Broster Buchanan are hiring for a Corporate Tax Accountant for a leading renewable energy company.
This is a permanent position paying circa £45k-£60k plus bonus/benefits and is based in their Hertfordshire office, but supporting significant opportunity to work from home.
This role can be considered either on a full-time basis or a 4 day per week part-time basis.
The Position
Supporting the Head of Tax and Group Tax Manager, the Corporate Tax Accountant will be responsible for a varied direct tax role looking after a portfolio of UK group companies and supporting on overseas international tax issues.
In addition to the compliance/reporting, this person will get involved in business partnering and dealing with tax queries from the business, and in addition the roleholder will work on a range of accounting duties and projects.
Responsibilities include:
Preparation and filing of corporation tax computations for UK trading companies and holdcos;
Preparation of year-end (and in some cases quarterly) tax accounting schedules under both FRS102 and IFRS;
Preparation of calculations for group relief (considering the most efficient approach), quarterly payments, Group Payment Arrangements and Electricity Generator Levy payments;
Preparation and filing of other tax returns as required including, SDLT/LBTT Rent Review Returns, Corporate Interest Restriction returns and Group Deductions Allowances statements;
Review of corporation tax returns prepared by third party advisers;
Corporation tax support work for due diligence projects for clients;
Liaison with third party providers to coordinate capital allowance projects for clients when required;
Supporting and liaising with other parts of the business including the AM management accountants or Commercial Asset Managers to resolve tax queries;
Assist in preparation of statutory accounts;
