If you enjoy traditional financial accounting duties, this could be a great role for you.
The client is happy to consider applicants straight from public practice, or those with a technical background in industry.
 
Key duties include:
 
– Preparation of year end information to enable production of the statutory accounts and successful completion of associated audit procedures.
– Preparation of year end reconciliations for payroll, sales ledger and purchase ledger
– Accounting for assets and liabilities transferred into the group as it continues to expand
– Preparation of VAT returns/ business VAT queries and completion of annual partial exemption calculation
– Preparation of Academies Accounts Return and Budget Forecast Return ready for annual submission 
– Control process for recharging key expenditure items procured centrally across wider group
– Work with Payroll Team to reconcile large volume data from the payroll system to support the payment of monthly salaries and associated accounting entries.
 
Suitable applicants will be ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA qualified with excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
 
You should already have:

1. Knowledge of financial control and accounting principles.
2. Some understanding of VAT and a desire to learn more in order to ensure compliance.
3. Excellent spreadsheet skills.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and in a compelling way for a range of audiences.
5. Strong strategic and analytical skills, including the ability to make sense of a range of complex information.
6. Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders including auditors and directors.
