      Good things come in threes

Good things come in threes, so they say, and the last 3 weeks have definitely been that way for the team at BB, and I wanted to say thank you to everyone here for helping us achieve these.

      1. BB team offsite

what a day, it was great to bring the whole business together to share ideas. When our teams created the group EVP last year there was a clear BB persona that came through and this was evident throughout the room. I firmly believe that BB (and actually every organisation I have worked in) is a better business when we listen to and embrace ideas from everyone. There is something really refreshing to being in a room with people that don’t always have the opportunity to sit with leadership teams to share their ideas. Ideas are much richer and broader when a fuller demographic is listened to. We shared thoughts around commercial opportunities, personal growth and automation. We had a lot of fun, shared some great ‘banter’ and some of us went all out to get a better profile picture – you know who you are!

      2. Appointment of new UK MD

Many of you will have seen that we recently appointed Janine Blacksley as UK MD. This is a pivotal appointment for BB as we embrace the next cycle of growth. We are extremely lucky to have an incredibly talented leadership team in every part of the business, and with Janine’s pedigree in building and expanding teams joining, this team growth is firmly on the agenda. The industry has been finding the market tough, as has been seen through the public results. BB has continued to deliver growth through this period, and while we do not take it for granted, this strategic hire is a testament to our desire to continue and accelerate this growth. On a personal level, I feel so lucky to work with everyone at BB every day, and having known Janine most of my career, I am delighted to be working with her again. Great people build great businesses, so watch this space!

      3. The Sunday Times Best Places to Work

Both of the above were capped off by our Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies award last week. This is the first time we have entered this since we launched BB, and we were really keen to ensure our entry was authentic and real. Every employee was offered the chance to complete the survey completely anonymously, and the responses were overwhelmingly positive. The fact that this award is a true reflection of what our people like or not about our business is what makes it even better. I couldn’t be prouder, as for me, the award is a reflection of and for our people. This award, along with our 5 star Google reviews from our clients and candidates, reinforces the great work I see every day being delivered by our teams.

I don’t take any of these wins for granted, and I know our sector has a reputation for bringing you down to earth quite quickly, so will get back to the day job as I know the rest of BB will also do as well. These successes just drive us to continue to be the best we can for everyone who interacts with us.
